You are creating an audio VoiceThread which will be embedded within your next project ---the wiki
Seventh Project Breakdown:

  1. Your VoiceThread content should be created for a new "umbrella topic" which will be used throughout the last three mini projects (1%)
  2. The VoiceThread is created for a specific grade level which will be used throughout the last three projects. Which means that the content, including illustrations, is appropriate for the chosen grade level. (2%)
  3. At least TWO classmates are to actively use your VoiceThread exercise prior to the mini projects presentation on October 31st (2%)
  4. Creativity and originality (2%)
  5. VoiceThread content and comments should use clear English articulation within grammatically correct English structures. (2%)
  6. Begin a new lesson plan in which the VoiceThread is meant to be integrated in the listening and speaking activity(ies) of the lesson. (1%)
This project is due on October 31st.

  1. From my perspective, voicethread was created for teachers. You can do so many things with this amazing tool. For instance, if you think your class was not enough to teach a topic, you can create a voicethread with the information you need for the students to understand that topic, especially grammatical aspects and also the pronounciation of certain words. I would like to use voicethread as many times as possible. Today, students have access to internet almost all the time, I can even add videos to my voicethreads, stop them, and then play them again in order to get students to know the point of the video. This is just one thing you can do. Students can create their own voicethread, for example, they can tell a story in past tense with images and using their creativity to show it to the rest of the class. The following link shows you 100 ways to use voicethread in education from different teacher´s ideas: http://www.freetech4teachers.com/2010/06/100-ways-to-use-voicethread-in.html#.VFGxhjSG91Y

  5. VoiceThread is a tool special for teachers. Specifically language teachers can take advantage on it. VoiceThread is very useful for working on the listening and speaking skills. By the means of VoiceThread, teachers can create very nice materials suitable for their students. Also, teachers can guide the students in the creation of a VoiceThread and later ask them to create a project by using it. VoiceThread is also very easy to use; therefore, it does not require a lot of effort to create one. The only disadvantage I found was the fact that you can’t export your VoiceThread if you have the regular (free) account, so you have access it online. I strongly recommend teacher to try VoiceThread, it is a versatile tool for using in the EFL classroom. This link will take you to a PDF to expand your knowledge on VoiceThread

  7. As a teacher I believe that voice thread will increase the interest in common tasks in my students. They will also have the advantage of accessing clarifications and completing a guide task in particular or even their homework. Something that might be difficult for the students inside the classroom is getting enough attention from the teacher, and since the groups sometimes are so big is difficult to work with them individually. Therefore Voice thread is an excellent tool in the educational process and in especial cases with students that get distracted easily. For example, students sometimes are ask to do a portfolio or a presentation but when they are doing the project at home they get frustrated because either they run out of ideas or they did not understand what the professor is asking for. In those cases is when this application becomes really helpful for them. 8. I see Voice Thread as one of the best technological tools for teaching. Having the opportunity to provide an explanation to students any time and outside the classroom is really amazing. I love the idea of introducing a topic or asking students to work on an extra task without having to make use of inclass time. The fact that one can record voice, add presentations, and even a video makes it really useful. I hold on to the idea that students who easily get distracted in the classroom by having a voice thread will keep more engaged since there´s no time for them to listen to what others are saying. Besides that, the amount of images that can flow while the explannation is being given is really catchy for the eye. There are good online resources teachers have to pay for in order to use it, but this Voice Thread is free, what makes it even better. When getting sick is such a good help hence one can send a recording with explannations and directions to students on what to do. The following video shows how Voice Thread is being introduced to a class to make it more interactive. It also ackowledges the importance it has in the EFL classroom as a way for learners to practice the language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKilOmo62JQ

  9. Voice thread is a very interesting and useful tool for educators. It allows teachers to present new information or to review topics that are already studied, without having the necesity of being face to face. As a future teacher i can see myself using these tool when giving my classes because it gives us a lot of new posibilities in order to make the classes more interesting. The following link shows us what is a voice thread and how it can be used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arB74zm6DPs

  10. In this course, we have learned how to use different technological tools in order to apply them in our classes. This is another strategy technological tool that we can definitely use when teaching. We can create voice threads with different purposes. For example, if we have to explain some homework, we can use this tool in order to explain it or clarify doubts. We can upload images, videos, documents, etc. They can comment on each slide by either writing their ideas or recording their voice.
    Link http://edtechteacher.org/tools/multimedia/voicethread/
This link gives a brief description of this platform. It also give examples of how to use it in our classes; for example, they can create a virtual tour of a country or historical place, comment on historical photographs or editorial cartoons, create oral book reports, create a public service announcement on an important local or world issue, simulate an interview of a historical or fictional character, comment on a speech, law, document, chart, or graph, create a presentation based on images of local artifacts or architecture and practice vocabulary in a foreign language.
As we can see, it depends on our creativity and our students’ creativity. It can help a lot in the process of learning a new language.

  14. This sourced called my attention for working with students to have teacher`s explanation all the time during classroom and even when they home. It also a great opportunity for students to participate in class and with this they will improve their oral skills. I would prefer to use it with adults to work in class and as and out of class activity with children.

  15. Voicethread is an innovative tool which helps to engage students in the learning process of English and is very easy to use. It allows teachers to work with multimedia tools such as audios, images, slides, videos and oral and written comments. Educators can create presentations with voicethread to make more interesting the class, as well as ask the students to make presentations in it about the topics seen in class. Also, this application is very interactive and students can repeat it several times if they did not get the idea the first time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arB74zm6DPs

  16. Voicethread just became the only way I personally understand when making videos. I am fascinated with all the details we -as teachers- can use when creating a VT video. I also like the wide variety of other VT videos we can watch for us to get the newest and best ideas to put them into practice in our own videos. I definitely plan to go farther in the use of Voicethread, because it provides students and teachers much more tools when interacting among them or through the use of a VT video (images, sounds, voice recording, etc)
This link would be workful, for you guys and girls, just in case you be interested on creating and uploading a separate audio file to Voicethread:

  17. Voice Thread is a useful tool for teaching. Of course as everything it has its pros and its cons. One of the pros that it has is that when teachers use this tool in their classes they are creating an interactive environment for the student, it enables teachers and students to upload images, video, or documents, record audio, video, or text comments, and then invite others to record comments as well. One of its cons is that you need to pay to create more than four VoiceThreads and to use other advanced tools of it. As a teacher I will use it for speaking and listening activities. Check this link http://edtechteacher.org/tools/multimedia/voicethread/ to know more about VoiceThread

  18. Forum4: Yorleni Vásquez López: As we all know, education needs to change in order to be combined with technology. Teachers should be always searching for new techniques and strategies to keep their students interested on learning and to fulfill their needs. VoiceThread is an online platform (not needed to be installed) that enables teachers and students to work on it by uploading images, videos, documents (PDF, word documents or power point presentations or prezi presentations), audio recorded by ourselves, or text comments (by writing your answers, thoughts or ideas), and then allowing others to comment your final version of the VoiceThread project. Therefore, it is a wonderful technological tool that all teachers can take advantage of to enhance and improve their classes. In the future, depending on the population and the area I’ll be working, I can take advantage of the enormous and varied possibilities and opportunities VoiceThread offers. For example, I can create VoiceThread videos with extra explanations to expand a topic that I consider needs more emphasis, teach a given topic with the facility to use videos, images or pictures, ppt or prezi or word documents as visual aids, and use my own voice or someone else’s to record the explanations. Also it could be wonderful to explain a homework, or even as a different and interesting in class task; moreover, to assign the creation of one of those to my students, having them working in subgroups for them to freely express towards a topic, or to present a research or to do an extra class work in which they can expand their knowledge and creativity. The following link presents more the hundred advantages teachers can have when using VoiceThread in education: http://www.freetech4teachers.com/2010/06/100-ways-to-use-voicethread-in.html#.VFRKQWfUh6R

  19. Due to some technical problems I had when creating this project, I didn't enjoy it too much; however, I could realize that it is a good tool to improve the listening and speaking areas. I consider that it also provides different useful options for students and teachers to interact; for exmple, if somebody doesn't have access to a webcam, he/she may comment by writing or by uploading a recording. Moreover, the possibility to upload a presentation and start explaining it is amazing. I think it may call students' attention more than just having someone explaining the presentation in front of the class. Therefore, we can combine this tool with some other conventional strategies in order to improve the teaching-learning process and, consequently, the acquisition of a second language.
Use in class: I would use this technological tool not only to ask students to comment, but also to invite their parents to watch what we are doing in class and even comment some of their sons and daughters' tasks. It is a good way to involve other people in our classes.

  20. As an English teacher I believe voicethreat is an amazing tool because it lets us make our classes interactive, and helps us to develop the four language skills in our students. An example of how I would implement it in my classroom would be to reinforce those topics that involve grammatical structure and vocabulary, to make up a class that we missed, and as homework (if all students have internet service at home ). The following link shows you some important information about the pros, cons, how is it like how teachers can use voicethreat https://www.graphite.org/website/voicethread

  21. As a future english teacher, I strongly recommend the use of new technology and software such as Voicethread. Planning a class using voicethread not only allows the students the opportunity to re-watch the same lesson in their homes as many times they want so they can study and learn better, but it also provides a certain level of interaction between the students and the class so they don’t feel the process of teaching-learning being less personal. It also allows the students to post their comments and ideas with quite time to analyze their responses.
